Google today introduced Knol, a Wikipedia style encyclopedia!
Today, Google introduced Knol - a wikipedia style encyclopedia. Google says “The Knol site has one goal: to help you share what you know”.
Like wikipedia, at Knol, people can write about various subjects and share with people and this can be edited by not anyone but invited people. The authors of the knols can take credit for their writing, provide credentials, and elcit peer reviews and comments.
The major differences between Wikipedia and Knol is that Wikipedia has one page per topic but Google Knol relaxes this limit by allowing authors to write on the same topic at different places.
Knol authors can monetizez the content they share at knol through AdSense.
At wikipedia, anyone can edit the topic but Knol allows only invited people to edit the content authored by the Knol author.
The highlight of Knol is, At wikipedia you can promote your products or self-promote but Knol allows you to use Knol to create articles for your business or to promote your lawful products or services.
